Today, 6lack announced a massive global Since I Have A Lover Tour, in support of his recent album under the same title.

Kicking off in North America this October before heading to Europe in early 2024, he will be joined by Mereba, Spinall, Sadboi, and another special surprise guest throughout select dates.

Cardi B is giving new parents some serious tips and tricks to the game that help her make it through the day, as she promotes a new partnership with Walmart.

“Welcome to motherhood. It’s hard, but we got you,” Cardi says, making sure to throw in some jokes about the purpose of her typically long nails. “Square off your pointy nails so you don’t scratch your baby. I might keep my pinky nail pointy though, so I can take out my baby’s boogers.”

“Let them sleep with lots of binkies, so if they lose their main one, they can find another,” she adds. “Gently bouncing on a yoga ball will soothe a fussy baby, and you’re working your abs.”

Cardi has two kids with Offset: her daughter, Kulture, who was born in 2018, and a son, Wave, who they welcomed in the fall of 2021. Since then, she’s accepted more child-focused gigs, including the couple making a guest appearance on Baby Shark’s Big Show last year.

We are now officially in the final week of The Late Late Show With James Corden. The departing host is making the last days of the show eventful, like with the emotional final “Carpool Karaoke” segment featuring Adele. An installment with Diddy aired days before that, and Corden says he thought that would be the final drive before Adele surprised him.

Corden was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (April 24) and he explained:

“I didn’t know it was happening. I thought our last one was… the last one was with Diddy. We shot that and I had a blast, had a great time, it was brilliant. And I thought, ‘Oh, that’s our last one, he’s someone we always wanted to do, it was great.’ And then I’m in bed one day and I get woken up by Adele smashing these cymbals above me as I’m asleep, and she said, ‘It’s your last ‘Carpool’ and I’m going to drive you to work.’

So it was all very… it was amazing and I love her so much for doing it because she didn’t have to do that. And she’s been… you know, I think it’s evident if anybody’s seen it that we’ve… we moved here a week apart, basically, we moved to LA a week apart, and it’s been an incredible journey for both of our families and I’ll always… I can’t believe she did that for me.”

Kid Cudi is about as accomplished as they come in terms of rapper/actors. Deadline reports that Cudi is set to star in (and co-produce) Hell Naw, Sony Pictures’ “action horror-comedy” produced by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. Keith and Kenny Lucas, aka The Lucas Brothers, are writing the script. Of the movie, Deadline notes, “The plot is being kept under wraps, but we do know the film is set during Paris Fashion Week and there will be zombies.”

Cudi says of the project, “This movie has been five years in the making. I am telling the world now, this film will f*ck you up in all the best ways. I have been a horror fan since I was 7 years old, the first horror movies I ever saw were Night Of The Living Dead and Evil Dead. The Weeknd has been quite busy recently preparing for the debut of his HBO series The Idol, but he still had the time to help a friend on a project of their own. The Weeknd informed fans via Twitter that not only is his frequent collaborator Mike Dean putting out an album this week but that The Weeknd co-executive produced it. The album is called 4:23 and drops this Friday, April 28.

Mike Dean, who has produced for Beyoncé, Chloe, Drake, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Jay-Z, Lana Del Rey, Madonna, Selena Gomez, and Travis Scott, is four albums into his solo discography, which he surprisingly only kicked off three years ago with 4:20, released on April 20, 2020. He’s released a project around the same time each year since with 4:23 being his fourth. Dean has yet to share further details about the album, although he retweeted The Weeknd and cross-posted his announcement to Instagram.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd recently released his own first new music since last year’s Dawn FM in the form of the Future collaboration “Double Fantasy.” The new track is set to appear on the soundtrack for The Idol, which The Weeknd has said was inspired by both Pink Floyd and Prince.

As the debate about the value and utility of AI in music continues, another artist has added his voice to the conversation. Khalid, who most recently released new music last month with “Softest Touch,” was asked about his view of the situation by TMZ. His response was ambivalent; while he sees worth in AI as a tool, he sounds unimpressed by all the AI-generated reproductions of established artists that have been sweeping the internet lately.

“I have mixed feelings about it,” he said. “I feel like AI is definitely going to be a helpful tool and it’s one of those things that you can’t escape. Hopefully, you know, I get to still have my job for a long time… I feel like it takes away the authenticity and that’s something that I really value about myself.” With regard to AI “resurrecting” deceased artists for collaborations with contemporary idols, he said, “I respect all the music for what it is and I think I’m fine. I appreciate the legends as they are.”

As AI has become more commonplace in recent months, much like the popularity of NFTs a couple of years ago, some artists have encouraged its use, while others have floated the idea of using legal measures to curtail AI’s spread. Grimes and Liam Gallagher were some of the notable proponents of the technology, while Universal Music Group issued a sternly-worded statement about AI’s use cutting into artists’ profits — and notably, labels’ profits as well.

Anyone who wanted to see what a rap beef between Latto and Coi Leray would look like will be disappointed after this weekend. During her final Coachella set, Latto gave an appreciative shout-out to the other rapper, finally clearing the air after Coi’s reaction to her new song “Put It On Da Floor.”

“Aye, Coi,” Latto said on stage, knowing that even if the New Jersey rapper wasn’t watching, she’d get the news. “By the way, I love your body, baby.” Coi herself acknowledged the moment, retweeting a clip from a fan account and writing, “It was the diss record with my name on it that confused me. Much love to Latto! Appreciate the compliment.”

The diss record in question is “Put It On Da Floor,” which Latto released on Friday after teasing it during her week one Coachella performance. The song has been interpreted by some fans as a diss directed toward Nicki Minaj, with whom Latto has had some friction recently, but it does make mention of Coi, who took issue with her name coming up in the song.

The line that caused all the drama goes: “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.” On Twitter, Coi went off, writing, “Latto bye . here you go taking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY.” However, after fans pointed out the figurative nature of the line, Coi reconsidered, reeling in her annoyance with an admission that:

“Maybe I over reacted idk. End of the day. Don’t say my name for clicks and likes. Specially if we don’t speak or communicate. I’m not a big blunt small blunt. Don’t compare me to nada. Mention bitches you actually beef with. Put it on the floor but leave me out of the bs.”

So, Coi and Latto are officially cool now, but we’ve yet to hear back from Nicki Minaj, the alleged target of the diss. She’s been known to keep her feuds simmering for years at a time, so we’ll probably hear from her soon enough.

“As an artist, you have to know that you can’t please everybody,” The Weeknd recently said. He was speaking to Interview Magazine about The Idol, his soon-to-debut HBO drama that was at the center of a troubling Rolling Stone report in March. But the sentiment extends to his music, too.

On Sunday, April 23, someone tweeted to The Weeknd, “ABEL NOTICE DAWN FM DON’T ACT LIKE IT DIDN’T HAPPEN.” He tweeted back, “What does this mean?”

Someone else chimed in with a tweet, “I feel like the Dawn FM era didn’t have its time to shine the way it deserved.”

“Really? I don’t know if I agree… maybe elaborate?” The Weeknd responded.

He also had worthy reactions to someone claiming “you hate Dawn FM” (“??? Not true! One of my favorites hands down”) and another person claiming he “did a little more for After Hours than what you did for Dawn FM”:

“It had the same amount of music video videos as After Hours,” The Weeknd tweeted separately to yet another person convinced they know how The Weeknd feels about his discography better than he does. “Maybe one less? A universe. Dawn FM experience short film, stadium tour(still going), live film and live album… I don’t think it needs more.. it’s perfect.”

After Hours arrived in 2020, housing the all-timer “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears.” Dawn FM followed suit in January 2022.

The argument is moot, really. The Weeknd began a new era on Friday, April 21, by releasing “Double Fantasy” featuring Future from the companion album to The Idol.

In recent days, a lot of attention has been paid to AI-generated music, specifically a song that used copies of Drake and The Weeknd’s voices. The track got removed from streaming platforms, but not before Meek Mill listened to it a bunch of times. Grimes, ever one to embrace new technologies, has some thoughts about this and about the use of AI clones of her own voice.

Yesterday (April 23), Grimes took to Twitter to share a screenshot of an article about the Drake/Weeknd AI song. She wrote, “I’ll split 50% royalties on any successful AI generated song that uses my voice. Same deal as I would with any artist i collab with. Feel free to use my voice without penalty. I have no label and no legal bindings.” She added in another tweet, “I think it’s cool to be fused w a machine and I like the idea of open sourcing all art and killing copyright.”

That led to some good follow-up questions. One Twitter user asked, “would the title of such a song credit you as a featured artist, or how would you prefer it?” Grimes replied, “Sure – anything anyone wants. Im just curious what even happens and interested in being a Guinea pig.” Somebody else wondered, “Hey can you pls tell everyone that they need to upload to elf.tech [Grimes’ website] in order to get approval from Media Empire?” She responded, “I feel like we shouldn’t force approvals – but rather work out publishing with stuff that’s super popular. That seems most efficient? We cud use elf tech for it tho – but I think we’ll notice if a grimes song goes viral.”

Grimes also noted that she’s working on AI-ifying her voice herself, tweeting, “We’re making a program that should simulate my voice well but we could also upload stems and samples for ppl to train their own.” Somebody asked about how that endeavor is going and Grimes replied, “we were p far along last I checked. I sorta just spur of the moment decided to do this lol but we were making a sim of my voice for our own plans and they were almost done.”

Finneas seems to be on board with Grimes’ vision: He shared her original post and added, “So lit.”
