Diddy Gave Dj Khaled The ‘Flyest Of The Fly’ Golf Cart As A Surprise Gift

Diddy treated his good buddy DJ Khaled to a surprise recently: a luxurious golf cart. Khaled thanked his friend for the gift by sharing a video on his Instagram feed of the moment he received it.

“If you gonna be the number one in golfing, we gotta make sure you’re number one in the golf cart, baby. Sh*t looks rich, sh*t looks healthy, looks like it fits my brother Khaled,” Diddy said.

“Let me be clear, Diddy just bought me a golf cart. He got me this as a gift,” Khaled adds in the clip.

Diddy explained more about the backstory behind why he gave Khaled a golf cart in his own Instagram post, noting that he saw just how hard his friend was working at the sport.

”I’m so proud of my brother @DJKhaled for all the work he’s putting in on the golf course,” Diddy captioned. “Enjoy my gift to you! I had to find the flyest of the fly for my brother! This ain’t no regular degular golf cart!”

“Thank you @diddy love brother beautiful gift !!!!!!! Grateful ! #LetsGoGolfing,” Khaled commented, once again expressing his sincere gratitude for the extravagant vehicle.

According to Billboard, Khaled is also reportedly filming a TV show about golfing. Diddy has also said that he “shot the pilot for Khaled’s new TV show,” giving some more insight to the duo’s relationship.

Labrinth Explained How His New Collaboration With Billie Eilish Came To Fruition

Billie Eilish fans were right when they suspected that the “Bad Guy” singer was hinting at a collaboration with Labrinth, who’s most known for doing the Euphoria soundtrack. “Never Felt So Alone” came out today, and the song proves the pair’s dark chemistry.

Labrinth typically creates unsettling, brooding atmospheres, which Eilish’s voice sounds perfect within. It makes sense that he, real name Timothy Lee McKenzie, talked about being a fan of Eilish in an interview with Eddie Francis on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily show, according to Billboard.

“I’ve been a fan of Billie for a long time,” McKenzie revealed. “I think she’s an amazing artist. I remember Noah [Cyrus] was doing some of the same shows Billie was in that time, and everybody kept on coming back talking about this Billie Eilish girl.”

“Then I think the first time I heard her on a record was ‘Bury a Friend,” he continued, adding that he’d met Finneas years prior. “And I was just like, ‘This is a sick record.’”

So naturally, he thought Eilish would fit on “Never Felt So Alone.”

“Once I started piecing the song together, I was just like, “Do you know what? I think this is the moment where I think Billie would be a sick addition,’” he said. “When we spoke, she was like, ‘Lab, I’ve been listening to your music for years.” I was like, ‘What?’ It was like, ‘Billie? What? You?’ She was like, ‘Yeah, been a fan.’ She was like, ‘I love this song as well, so I would love to do it with you.’”

A Man Charged In Connection To Pop Smoke’s Murder Pleads Guilty To Voluntary Manslaughter

Three years after Pop Smoke’s (real name Bashar Barakah Jackson) tragic murder, the case is nearing a close. Revered as one of the driving forces behind New York’s drill music scene, the late rapper’s vocals continued to be used on tracks as recently as Tyga’s song “Sunshine,” released last summer. Initially, five people were investigated in connection to his death, but only four were formally charged.

Now, according to the Associated Press, one of those men has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. He previously pleaded guilty in Inglewood juvenile court to the charge of home invasion robbery. It is unclear if his four-year and two-month sentencing in a juvenile facility includes the voluntary manslaughter charge. But what is known at this time is that the judge preceding over the case “declined to apply the two years and eight months he has already spent in the juvenile hall toward his sentence.”

At the time of the slain, the defendant was just 17 years old (he’s 20 now), so his name was not released to the public. Neither was the identity of his co-defendant, who was 15 years old. The two other parties charged were Corey Walker (19 years of age at the time) and Keandre Rodgers (18 years old).

In the court testimony retrieved by the Los Angeles Times, a detective shared that Jackson was “in the shower when masked robbers confronted him. During a struggle, one attacker, who was 15, pistol-whipped the rapper and shot him three times in the back.” Before fleeing the scene, they stole the rapper’s diamond-studded Rolex watch, which they later sold for $2,000.

Rae Sremmurd Recruit Young Thug For The Petty ‘Royal Flush’ On ‘Sremm 4 Life’

Rae Sremmurd‘s new album Sremm 4 Life is out now. Though it’s not as laden with collaborations as their records usually are, the LP does feature two exciting artists: Future and Young Thug.

Young Thug’s feature is on the petty anthem “Royal Flush.” It immediately starts off with fiery resentment: “Leave me on read, you must be out of yo’ head / Leave me for dead, you must be out of yo’ head,” Swae Lee deadpans.

Last year, the duo teased this new record in interviews. “We’ve got to give them something new, man. As an artist, it’s hard to be yourself, and I feel like with this album, it was like we’re not following a trend,” Slim Jxmmi told GQ. “We want set the tone.”

In January, they kicked off the year by unveiling the song “Sucka Or Sum,” getting fans excited for their comeback. They announced Sremm 4 Life shortly after. They shared the single “Tanisha (Pump That)” just last month, which was produced by Mike Will Made-It as well as Pharrell Williams.

Missy Elliott’s ‘Barbie’ Movie Fantasy Was 26 Years Ahead Of The Actual Film, In Typical Missy Fashion

It may be rumored that Dua Lipa is cooking up the official theme song for the forthcoming Barbie movie. But Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame nominee Missy Elliott was living in the beloved doll’s plastic world in the late 1990s. Seeing social media go into a full-on frenzy about the release of the movie, the multi-hyphenated talent took a trip down memory lane.

Sharing a clip from her take on the Barbie-verse on Instagram, Missy wrote, “They say a Barbie movie is coming out. Well, let me bring this back one time,” referring to the official music video for her single, “BeepMe911,” featuring the R&B group 702. The video, which, as Missy proudly points out, was released 26 years ago.

“Back then, some folks clowned me, Timbaland, and Magoo, for doing a Barbie-style video. With our arms painted like joints and Tim and Magoo for having Ken hair styles. I remember crying, but I realized I was just years ahead of the game,” wrote the musician.

Barbie has long since been incorporated into the music industry in several ways, especially in hip-hop. Several artists, including Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, and Nicki Minaj, have all referenced the brand in videos, on track, and in promotional photo shoots.

The Barbie movie is set to hit theaters on 7/21. For more information, click here.

The Barbz Are Enamored By Nicki Minaj As A Ballerina In Her And YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s New ‘WTF’ Video

It’s been about a month since Nicki Minaj unveiled a new alter ego on the single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” Now she’s back with more fresh music, but this time, it’s a feature on YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s new one, “WTF.”

On the song, Minaj comes through with a quick verse featuring clever wordplay like, “Fully active, I keep my shooters in the gym, n****, practice / You b*tches know it could get sticky like a cactus / I’m the one that they tread like tractors / And still can’t catch a break like fractures.”

What’s been getting more attention than that, though, is Minaj portraying a ballerina in the video. One Twitter user tweeted, “i never thought i’d wake up today and see NICKI MINAJ DOING BALLET ?!!” Another wrote, “nicki ate this ballerina aesthetic up.”

In other collaboration news, Minaj recently showed love to Ice Spice on social media, which prompted rumors/hope that the two would link up and do something together. Minaj followed Ice Spice, which floored the young rapper, who has long been a Minaj fan.

What Does Kim Kardashian Say About Kanye West On Drake’s ‘Search & Rescue’?

It’s officially New Music Friday, and of the slew of new tracks that dropped at midnight, what has so far stood out the most is Drake’s new one, “Search & Rescue.” The track has actually been making headlines for a few days now, when Drake previewed it and revealed it featured a sample of Kim Kardashian talking about her and Kanye West’s divorce.

What exactly does Kardashian say about Kanye West on Drake’s “Search & Rescue?”

The sample is of a conversation between Kardashian and Kris Jenner, from an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The exchange goes:

Kardashian: “I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy.”
Jenner: “OK, that’s fair.”
Kardashian: “Remember that.”
Jenner: “You didn’t come this far just to come this far.”
Kardashian: “Yup. I saw it on the internet [laughs].”

Part of that conversation can be seen in this video:

In that same episode (but not on the Drake song), Kardashian also said:

“I just feel like I’ve worked so hard in life to achieve everything that I’ve wanted to, and I’ve lived up to my expectations and achieved ten times more than I even thought was humanly possible, but I don’t have a life to share that with. Like, I do — obviously my kids and everything — but am I just going to sit here and think, ‘OK, my kids fulfill me and I’m good?’

I never thought I was lonely. I always thought that’s totally fine: I could just have my kids, my husband moves from state to state, and I just am on this ride with him, and I was OK with that. And then after turning 40 this year, I realized, like, ‘No, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state.’ To me, I thought, ‘Oh my god, that’s when we’re getting along the best,’ but then that is sad to me and that’s not what I want.”

Who Is Sexxy Red? Meet The Rising St. Louis-Based Rapper

Every so often, a new artist breaks through the noise of mainstream rap by the sheer undeniable strength of their persona. Sexxy Red is one of those rappers. Stepping into a tradition of unapologetically raunchy rappers like Trina, Jacki-O, City Girls, and Sukihana, Sexxy Red’s videos for “Born By The River” featuring Sukihana and “Pound Town” have become viral favorites due to their over-the-top sexuality and bizarrely relatable down-to-earth nature.

The St. Louis rapper is the definition of a round-the-way girl; her videos are shot at gas stations and on Ocean Drive at South Beach. Like GloRilla and Ice Spice before her, Sexxy Red fills her videos with her friends, presents as almost aggressively regular, and flouts the conventions of big-budget productions. Whereas the rappers of the past embraced a “fake-it-til-you-make-it” ethos, piling on the polish, Sexxy Red just puts on the PSD Hooters set and twerks with her friends in a parking lot. It’s a lot of fun, even if it will probably make your mom cover your eyes in horror.

While this might not seem like a recipe for success — her radio-unfriendly rhymes include tongue-in-cheek lines about the color of one of her orifices — she’s certainly captured Rap Twitter’s attention. Hip-hop heads have been debating her music and image just about every other day, with “Pound Town” trending at various points in the past month, thanks in large part to fellow facial tattoo enthusiast Summer Walker covering the song on her own social media. Other peers like GloRilla have also expressed their appreciation for the song, so it’s probably only a matter of time before it’s a new “song of the summer” — just like Glo’s own “Let’s Go (FNF).” It’s already climbing the charts and the Hot 100 isn’t out of reach.

If Sexxy Red seems like too much, just you wait… if her momentum keeps up, she could end up building an insatiable fanbase for whom her current success is just not enough.

NLE Choppa Finishes Building His NBA Team Roster Full Of Musicians

Before his music was racking up millions of streams, NLE Choppa, real name Bryson Lashun Potts was winning in another way. The “Mo Up Front” rapper was racking up points on the leaderboard as a rising basketball star. The Memphis native has shown his love for the sport throughout his music, including on his track “23.”

Reminiscing on his time on the court, the rapper stopped by Uproxx studios to play a modified game of fantasy basketball with our very own Cherise Johnson. Instead of drafting active players in the National Basketball Association, NLE had to build his five-person roster of a single point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, and center from his fellow musicians.

Up for his imaginary draft include rappers Rico Nasty, Polo G, G Herbo, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Young Thug, 2Rare, Chief Keef, Ice Spice, DDG, and himself. Also on the board is singer SZA.

In part one, he selected “Shirt” singer SZA as his team’s official shooting guard and himself as the point guard.

Watch part two below to see who rounds out NLE Choppa’s NBA roster.

Outside of his NBA team roster with musicians, be sure to check out NLE Choppa’s UPROXX Sessions performance of his single, “23,” here. You can also watch his Behind The Video episode for the track here.

Cardi B Said Her Debut Album ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ Still Makes ‘Millions’ Despite Being Five Years Old

Today is the five-year anniversary of one of rap’s most impactful albums, Cardi B’s Invasion Of Prihttp://vacy. And despite the album being five years old, Cardi says she still makes “millions” of dollars from it — which probably helps explain the delay for its follow-up. In a video posted to her Instagram Story, Cardi celebrated the fifth anniversary with a bottle of champagne and a cake from her team, boasting, “I’m still getting booked for millions of dollars with one muthaf*ckin’ album!”

Over on Twitter, meanwhile, Cardi’s fans have been celebrating with a bracket of favorite tracks, which is currently in its semifinals stage. As of press time, “Bodak Yellow,” which got a bye until the quarterfinals, is up against the fiery intro “Get Up 10,” while the underrated second single “Bartier Cardi” is paired with the emotional “Be Careful.”

Upon its release, Invasion Of Privacy became the first album by a female rap artist to debut atop the Billboard 200 in twenty years, earning 255,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Cardi was the first female artist to chart thirteen songs simultaneously on the Hot 100, while the album was the first ever to have all its tracks certified platinum or higher by the RIAA. It also won Cardi the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, and kicked open the door for the modern wave of female rappers currently dominating the charts.
