We are just weeks away from 6lack‘s much-anticipated third studio album, Since I Have A Lover. This album arrives five years after his critically-acclaimed album, East Atlanta Love Letter, and features him embracing love and finding joy.

Over his five-year solo hiatus, it seems 6lack took some time to work on his well-being. Now, on Since I Have A Lover, 6lack is back and better than ever.

While the death of Takeoff at just 28 years old was already tragic, the tragedy was exacerbated by the fact that at the time of his death, he and fellow Migos member Quavo were apparently on the outs with the third member of their trio, Offset. As Quavo and Takeoff promoted their new album as a duo, Offset hinted at plans of releasing a solo project of his own.

Offset put those plans on pause with the death of his former bandmate, but now, it looks like he’s ready to begin his rollout once again. And, on an especially bittersweet note, it appears that he may have still been working with the late Takeoff. On Monday, he shared a clip of a new song on his Instagram Story that features a verse from Takeoff alongside another from fellow Quality Control records rapper Icewear Vezzo. The clip eventually circulated online:

While it’s currently unknown if this posthumous verse was recorded specifically for Offset’s solo project or taken from an older recording session, it’s both encouraging and deflating to know that there was a possibility the two cousins could be mending fences. Before Takeoff’s death, it did appear that whatever the issue was, it appeared to center on Quavo and Offset, who were rumored to have gotten into an altercation at the recent Grammy Awards over a tribute to their fallen bandmate. Both rappers denied that a fight took place.

Nick Cannon explained why monogamy isn’t for him on several occasions in the past year-plus. He has 12 children — the most recent baby arrived in December — with six different women because he just has too much love to give.

“I never want to generalize the relationships I have now, [like], ‘Oh, these my ladies!’ That’s sill. I have individual relationships with each person in my life, and I respect … their peace,” Cannon said in an interview with The Shade Room shared last week. “I’m not a private person, but I try to give everybody who wants to operate in privacy and keep their life personal, I love it. … I’ve had every type of relationship with a woman that a man could ever imagine.”

But moments later, the one-time Emmy winner reflected on two particularly lovable exes. When asked to name the love of his life, Cannon gushed over Mariah Carey, his ex-wife with whom he shares twins Monroe and Moroccan:

“I always talk about that, and then it goes viral and all her fans get mad at me. I’ll say, I was 12 years old with Mariah Carey pictures on my wall, and that becomes my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I ever met. I get a lot of this delightful disposition from her. She’s just always happy, always doing for others — no matter what’s happening in life. I’m like, wow, a person can really operate like that and don’t allow negative energy into their space. When I found that out about her and saw how remarkable she was, like, that woman is not human. She’s a gift from God.”

That led directly into an even dicier question: Which ex does he wish he’d had a baby with?

“Everybody talks about having kids,” Cannon responded. “If I say this, I know it’s gonna go viral, but […] when Christina Milian were doing [the 2003 movie] Love Don’t Cost A Thing, I remember when I found out she was pregnant — did I have kids yet? I don’t know, but I was like, ‘Dang, man.’ But I was so happy for her.”

He added, “We was kids in love early on, and so you talk about that, but […] life plans it out. The universe gives it how it’s supposed to be given. […] That was the homie, and we definitely had our romantic conversations about what it would be like back then.”

Cannon and Milian dated in the early 2000s, years before Cannon married Carey in 2008. Cannon and Carey split in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016 (as noted by People).

The lives of celebrities are different from those of the average non-famous person in a number of ways, but some things stay the same. For example, no matter how noteworthy or wealthy you are, as an American, you can still be summoned for jury duty. That just happened to Lizzo and she shared some of the process with her fans.

In a TikTok video posted on March 21, Lizzo takes viewers through her morning of getting ready for jury duty. As she does, she explains, “I’m not excited about jury duty. I’m actually really stressed about it because I’ve just heard people getting really gruesome, violent cases, and I have a really sensitive mind and I don’t like hearing or seeing that. I would cry.”

In a follow-up video, she responded to a commenter who wondered if she was chosen to serve on the jury. Sharing a photo of herself outside a jury assembly room, Lizzo wrote, “I GOT RELEASED FROM JURY DUTY YALL I WONDER WHY THO [thinking emoji].”

There were some funny comments on both videos. One user wrote, “IMAGINE you’re on the stand trying to prove to Lizzo you’re innocent.” Another wrote, “Your Honor she’s slaying.” Another said, “I would pass away if it were my trial and I turned and saw LIZZO in the stands.”

Undaunted by the backlash to his last cover song, Logic puts a low-key spin on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Weed Song.” The original song appeared on the group’s 2000 album BTNHRESURRECTION and finds Krayzie, Bizzy, Wish, and Flesh reflecting on their favorite vegetable over a hazy beat crafted by the group’s go-to producer DJ U-Neek. Logic’s version is likewise a hazy, melodic meditation on the benefits of smoking.

In the accompanying video, Logic dances around his property, showing off his cars, a wild wardrobe, and even his dad bod. Some cheesy, ’90s-era green screen effects and a cameo appearance from his pregnant wife Brittney Noell complete the carefree atmosphere of the video, proving he isn’t taking himself too seriously.

That’s a good thing for him, because the last time he did one of these, fans weren’t too happy about it. Earlier this month, Logic shared a live band cover of Ice Cube’s 1992 classic “It Was A Good Day,” prompting fans to declare their hatred. However, it seemed that Logic got a co-sign from the only person who matters: Ice Cube himself. Telling fans on TikTok that the OG rapper told him to “keep doing you,” he also intimated that he might do a whole album of covers. He’s now well on his way.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, who were doing “daily Zoom therapy” to preserve their relationship, are taking some time apart. In person, at least. A source told US Weekly that the Pam and Tommy Lee-like couple are “currently on a break but are still in contact. They are very hot and cold.”

Fox, who recently attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party solo, and the “My Ex’s Best Friend” singer got engaged in January 2022, but no wedding date has been set yet. “They have stalled wedding planning to work on their issues,” the source claimed. “Their relationship is pretty volatile at the moment. They are currently off, but still texting each other.”

Last month, “BDSM Spice” debunked rumors that MGK cheated on her.

“There has been no third party interference in this relationship of any kind. Tekashi 69 (Daniel Hernandez) was reportedly hospitalized yesterday (March 21) after being attacked at a gym sauna in South Florida.

Per WPTV, his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, said that the rapper obtained cuts and bruises — particularly to his face — after the attack.

“Employees heard the disturbance and the perpetrators fled,” Lazzaro said. “Police in South Florida were called and he was transported via ambulance to a local hospital.”

TMZ also had video footage of the incident, where an unidentified man is seen punching and kicking Tekashi. However, Lazzaro also noted that there were several attackers in the incident.

Lazzaro also told TMZ that while Hernandez tried to fight off the attackers, there were too many. Gym staff called for the police and an ambulance after hearing the scuffle. Hernandez was taken to the hospital.

“Take a picture, I’m gonna be famous now,” one of the men can be heard in the video.

“I’m a fan, homie,” the one filming it added.

His attorney notes that the next step is to work with “Feds” to secure protection for Hernandez. He had previously been granted early release from federal prison “after cooperating with authorities to land several of his gang member cohorts behind bars.”

However, it is still unknown if this cooperation for his early release played a part in the attack.

Rapper Quavo has earned his spot in the hip-hop textbooks for having one of the smoothest flows in the game. As a former member of the rap rap trio Migos, he, along with his former groupmates, has been credited as a formative force behind the now-thriving Atlanta rap sound. Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz have also been deemed pioneers for a cultural wave in Atlanta’s music history.

The “Greatness” rapper’s appearance on NBC’s latest music show, That’s My Jam, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, put his buttery smooth flow skills to the test. Quavo was prompted to perform a hilarious cover of Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz’s classic song “Get Low,” however, due to the rules of the Nonsense Karaoke segment, all of the song’s lyrics were changed.

Swapping out the beloved chorus for, “Pickle brine / Taste like wine / Straightening my teeth with Invisalign / Jello, Jello, Jello, Jello, Jello, Jello / I bought a Kindle at the mall / Belly flop’d Niagara falls / Read a book opened by Roald Dahl,” the musician didn’t miss a beat.

As an Atlanta native that grew up hearing the song and a successful rapper in his own right, it probably wasn’t as difficult as it may have seemed. But nonetheless, the Hunco knocked it out of the park.

Doja Cat’s third studio album, Planet Her, continues to make streaming history, but fans are desperate for another body of work as the project approaches its two-year anniversary. Although the recording artist has been having a ball as one of the newest fashion it girl, she hasn’t abandoned music just yet.

Taking to Twitter, Doja shared that progress has been made when it comes to her forthcoming album. In a tweet, the musician wrote, “DC4 has a title now,” confirming that her upcoming album has been given an official title.

Before fans could guess what the title would be for her fourth album, Doja appeared to have spilled the beans, tweeting out the hashtag, “#hellmouth.”

But some fans weren’t buying it, replying to her initial post to share their skepticism.

On the other hand, some fans excited about the news began to fish for more information about the album’s directions. As they inquired about the project’s sound many were shot down as they took a guess at the genre.

One fan tweeted that it would be a rap album, and although Doja Cat didn’t confirm the fan’s guess, by liking the tweet, that was enough to send fans into a spiral.

In a conversation with Elle that the record will be “predominantly rap.” The last update the musician gave fans was that she was heading in “a more masculine direction,” i.e. punk. But it looks like based on her tweets, she’s landed back on rap… for now, at least.
